No matter what kind of business you operate, one of the most important things you can do is make sure you are easy to find. Local business listings are a great way to do just that. Not only will you capture traffic from users of that particular listing service, but you will also be able to link to your website to help improve your SEO. For any business with a physical location, this is commonly referred to as “Local SEO.”
Local SEO is especially important because anytime someone is using a search engine like Google, it factors in location. For example, if you are a chiropractor located in Los Angeles, CA, you are more likely to show up when someone in Los Angeles searches for a term like “chiropractor near me.” Search engines care about user experience, so they aren’t keen on showing results for a New York chiropractor to someone located in Los Angeles.
If you are looking to make sure you capture as many leads from internet searches as possible, then you are going to want to list yourself on any applicable local business listing. To make your life easier, we’ve created a list of free local business listings. But before you dive in, here are a few tips to keep in mind:
- You want to make your business information consistent on every listing. i.e. Don’t switch between using “Suite 101” or “Unit 101.”
- Fill out each profile with as much information as you can. You want to make sure to make a good impression for anyone who sees the profile.
- Each listing can take quite a bit of time (5-15 minutes each). We can help! Just contact us here and we’ll be happy to help you out.
